Santa Barbara Surf Adventures is located at Leadbetter Beach, operated by a group of CPR certified lifeguards and surfers who take pride in teaching surfing, beach safety, and having fun!

LESSONS

Private lessons for individuals, groups and corporations are offered all year!

Location: Location will vary based on the surf and weather and tides for the day

What’s Included: Surfboard + Wetsuit

What You Need: towel, warm clothes, sunscreen. If the surf is too small at Leadbetter you will need transportation to another location - up to a 20 minute drive. We transport all of the gear.

What to Expect: Lessons are sold by the hour. Time starts when we get to the water. There is usually 15 to 20 minutes of practice and preparation on the beach that includes: water safety, surfing etiquette and practicing pop-ups.

*If it is your first time, an hour is often enough. Water temperatures can get cold and paddling can be exhausting.

CAMP

Santa Barbara's premier surf camp, sponsored by Beach House and iSurf is a week long camp for kids ages 5+ with basic swimming ability and a desire to ride waves. Small camper/instructor ratio gives everyone a chance to have one-on-one instruction in the water. We believe surfing is a sport of the heart and we do our best to model the aloha spirit of both respect for the ocean and each other while having a ton of fun!

The SBSA non-travel camp is a one-week surf camp that takes place at Leadbetter Beach where the long and rolling wave set-up is amazing for both beginners looking to sharpen their skills and for first-time surfer looking to get their first wave. This camp is best suited for ages 6-14 with basic swimming skills.

AFTER SCHOOL
PROGRAM

Looking for a great activity of you son or daughter after school? The goal of our program is to get students active for approximately 90 minutes a day. We take no more than four students per instructor to ensure a more personalized experience and you can sign up for one or multiple times per week. Our instructors are trained to help the first time surfer to stand and the intermediate surfer to advance.

Location: We offer two locations Leadbetter and Campus Point

When: Monday - Friday from 3:30 to 5:00

What’s Included: Surfboard + Wetsuit

What to Expect: Beginner students will learn how to paddle through the waves, turn their boards, catch waves, stand up, and work on going down the line and turning. More advanced students will work on bottom turns, cutbacks, floaters and more advance surfing maneuvers.

STAND UP
PADDLEBOARD TOURS

Come enjoy the beauty and wildlife of Starns Wharf and the Santa Barbara Harbor as few have seen it. No experience is necessary! Our professional staff are trained to help you learn the basics of stance, paddle strokes, safety and recovery, which will leave you confident and capable to go out on your own the next time if you choose.

Guided Lessons - Guided lessons are an hour and half and include the SUP equipment, life vest, and instruction. Tours can be scheduled at most anytime of day but are subject to prior reservations, wind and weather conditions. If you have any questions please feel free to give us a call or send us an email and we will be sure to get back to you as quickly as possible. You can also scroll down and click on book now to make a reservation right away.

Location: We offer two locations Leadbetter and Campus Point

What’s Included: Paddleboard + and Life Jacket

What to expect: We’ll spend the first 5 minutes going over how to use the equipment including where and how to stand on the SUP. Appropriate paddle height, grip and stroke technique. And, just in case, we’ll go over what to do in the event you fall in. After the brief land lesson, we’ll head out through our beautiful harbor and make our way over to Stearns Wharf. We often see seals, pelicans and other sea life along our way. It’s a spectacular and unique way to enjoy one of Santa Barbara’s most prized gems.
